Shadow the Hedgehog is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is an alternate version of Shadow the Hedgehog from the In Another Time, In Another Place Zone. An anti-hero known as the "Ultimate Lifeform," he is a comrade to Sonic the Hedgehog and controls several Chaos energy-related powers.

Shadow is identical in appearance and wardrobe to his Prime Zone counterpart.

Like many of Sonic the Hedgehog's allies, Shadow chose to take part in the Olympic Games, and ended up competing with Sonic and Tails in the long jump. However, the trio were then approached by Marine and Cream, who warned them that several of their friends had disappeared. The culprit, Dr. Eggman, then revealed himself, unleashing Goal Caterkillers on the trio, who succeeded in capturing Tails and Shadow. Fortunately, Sonic managed to save them and the rest of his friends by defeating Metal Sonic after a series of events.[1]
