The Shadow Android[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. It is a mass-produced robot model created by Dr. Eggman that resembles Shadow the Hedgehog.

Shadow Androids look near identical to Shadow the Hedgehog. They are predominantly dark gray robots. They have red eyes with black sclera, gray muzzles and white patches of fur on their chests. They have orange stripes on their quills, around the edges of their eyes, and on their arms and legs. They have six quills on their heads, four of which curve upwards and two that curve downwards, two spines on their backs, and small tails. Shadow Androids possess white gloves with black cuffs and orange tongues, and rocket skates which, like their gloves, have black cuffs and orange tongues. On each of their wrists and ankles, they wear a single gold ring.

At some point in the past, the Shadow Androids were deployed by Dr. Eggman to kill Claire Voyance, Slinger the Ocelot and Smithy the Lion after he managed to lock them within their holding room.[1]

The Shadow Androids are mindless and silent drones programmed to follow their leader's every command. Under a guiding force, they are cold and merciless machines who carry out their commands without question.[1]

Powers and abilities

Shadow Androids have enhanced strength that resembles that of Shadow the Hedgehog. They also possess super speed and utilize their rocket skates to accommodate it.[1]
