Shade[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. She is an echidna Marauder who helped steal the last Chaos Emerald and kidnapped Knuckles the Echidna in an alternate universe.

After Knuckles the Echidna fought a group of Marauders after they escaped a trap with a Chaos Emerald as bait, Shade stepped in and knocked out Knuckles, though she was impressed by his abilities. Despite the rest of the Marauders' objections, Shade decided to keep Knuckles prisoner after retrieving the Chaos Emerald, and departed with her group, unaware that Miles "Tails" Prower went to go and get help.[1]

Shade appears to be a cunning individual. While willing to solve problems with force, she opposes unnecessary violence and killing, and even regrets being forced to go into battle and harming her enemies. She also respects skilled individuals even if they are her enemies.[1]

Powers and abilities

Shade is a skilled martial artist, able to take down opponents with strength and power much greater than her own with ease.[1]
