The Semi-auto Rifle[1] is an object that appears in Shadow the Hedgehog. A GUN-exclusive rifle, it is a gun-type weapon usable by both enemies and the player. It appears to be the main service rifle of GUN, seen commonly in the hands of GUN soldiers.
Description
The Semi-Auto Rifle is a black rifle with a long body and a thin barrel. It fires single shots (being semi-automatic) and overall resembles real-life assault rifles such as the SIG SSG 550, Armalite AR-18, and M16A1 since the upper receiver has a carry handle shape in it. It loads cartridges of an undetermined caliber (likely 5.56x45mm) in a thirty round magazine.
Overview
In gameplay, the Semi-Auto Rifles can only be found in certain Stages. They can be wielded by enemies aligned with GUN, such as GUN Soldiers, Gun Beetles and Big Foot-type foes, who will use them against the player.
Semi-Auto Rifles can be dropped by defeated enemies that wield them or released from breakable Containers. Touching one will make Shadow pick it up automatically, and pressing // (whether on the ground or in mid-air) will fire it. Holding down // will cause it to fire continuous shots. As a gun, the Semi-Auto Rifle can shoot enemies from a distance (targets within range will be automatically targeted). In comparison to other weapons, the Semi-Auto Rifle has medium-range and medium damage output. A Semi-Auto Rifle cab fire a total of thirty shots, and once those run out, it becomes useless. However, it can be reloaded with another thirty shots by picking up another Semi-Auto Rifle.
