Sega Mega Drive Classic Collection or Sega Genesis Classic Collection, (released digitally as Sega Mega Drive Classics or Sega Genesis Classics), is a series of compilation games published by Sega, that each contain a collection of emulated Sega Mega Drive games re-released for PC.
There are a total of five volumes in the series, with the first four having physical releases and the fifth one being exclusively digital. The first four released from 2010 to 2011, and were later re-released in a four disc set in 2011 titled Sega Genesis Classic Collection Gold Edition. All of the volumes except the fifth contain games from the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
All of the games included on the compilations were also available on Steam, and in 2016 Sega released a free application on the platform called the Sega Mega Drive Classics Hub or Sega Genesis Classics Hub. It acted as a hub for all of the games in the Sega Mega Drive Classic Collection series, and it later received a physical release in 2018, titled Sega Mega Drive Classics. It included all but five of the games that are already digitally available, (one of those being Sonic 3 & Knuckles) and it released on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
