For the island in Sonic Rush Adventure, see Southern Island.

Southern Island,[1] also known as Seagull Island,[2][3] is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a tropical island in the Sol Zone.

History[]

Sonic Rush Adventure[]

After Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower crash landed on the Southern Island in their Tornado, Marine the Raccoon quickly found them and told them of the pirates that had come to the island seeking the Chaos Emerald she had found. Just as she showed it to the duo, Captain Whisker's top agent, Johnny came out of nowhere to snatch it and they went into pursuit of him and eventually made their way off the island after meeting up with Blaze the Cat.

The Shadow Saga[]

After finding Shadow out at sea, Marine took him and Blaze the Cat to Southern Island. There, Marine pointed out to Blaze that she smelled smoke and the three rush out onto Seagull Beach. The three then met Metal Sonic who was attacking one of the Coconut Crew. Blaze proceeded to attack him for assaulting one of her people, but she got knocked back. Shadow then tried to fight Metal Sonic using his Chaos Control, but it failed. That was when Marine hopped on top of Metal SOnic, and when Shadow and Blaze tried to attack, Marine kept getting in their way. Metal Sonic eventually threw Marine off and thanks to quick thinking from Blaze, Shadow and Blaze unleashed a combo on Metal and launched him up into the air. Marine then used the Ocean Tornado's cannons to completely destroy Metal Sonic, leaving Shadow temporarily stranded. Shadow said that Metal Sonic had the dimensional engine that was his only way home. He was then given the green Chaos Emerald by Blaze, which was given to her by Sonic to help her find the Sol Emeralds, to let him teleport himself home with.
