The Screw Kick (スクリューキック Sukuryūkikku?)[1] is a move that appears in the anime series Sonic X. It is the signature move of Rouge the Bat. It is a powerful spin around the vertical axis that can penetrate solid objects.

Description[]

The Screw Kick is a devastating attack capable of rivaling the iconic Spin Attack in terms of sheer power. When executed by Rouge, she leaps into the air and performs a rapid, spinning maneuver, creating an illusion of a swirling tornado around her before plummeting feet-first towards her target. This high-impact attack possesses immense destructive force, capable of penetrating virtually any obstacle, with the exception of the most formidable adversaries, such as the Metarex or chaos energy-infused robots.

Emerl's rendition of the Screw Kick differs significantly. He utilizes his unique, articulated joints to perform a rapid, drilling motion with his legs, creating a powerful, spinning attack. [2]

Trivia[]

Knuckles' Screw Kick-like attack.

Knuckles' Screw Kick-like attack.

  • In "A Wild Win", Knuckles used a similar attack to the Screw Kick to clash with Emerl's, but it was no match for the latter.
  • In the Japanese version of Sonic X, Rouge often says the Screw Kick's name when performing it. In the English dub however, she only says its name in "Sewer Search"; in other episodes, she merely just yells or grunts.
