History[]
Film series[]
Sonic the Hedgehog 2[]
Having been employed by Knuckles to search the universe for Sonic, the Scavengers chose to investigate a surge in Chaos energy coming from the Mushroom Planet. Instead of finding the hedgehog, however, they were met with Dr. Robotnik, who was apparently sleeping with one of Sonic's energized quills in his hand. Upon reaching to take the quill, however, the Scavengers found that the doctor was indeed awake, as he activated a series of traps to knock out all three members.
The fate of the three Scavengers is unknown, as Knuckles apparently left them on the planet after making an alliance with Robotnik.
Comics[]
Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Official Movie Pre-Quill[]
While investigating a volcanic world, the Scavengers found Knuckles, hurt from taking a fall off a cliff. The Scavengers captured the echidna, and brought him to Casino Night, where he was forced to fight a monstrous lobster-like creature for sport. After defeating the beast, Knuckles approached the scavengers. Realizing he couldn't catch Sonic alone, he asked for their help in his quest, which they accepted.[1]
Discovering a signature, the Scavengers and Knuckles tracked their target (in reality, Tails) across the universe, from Green Hill Zone to Marble Zone to Aquatic Ruin Zone to Spring Yard Zone, and lastly to Hill Top Zone. After reaching Hill Top Zone, and finding no sign of the being they were chasing, Knuckles inferred that they were not tracking Sonic, and suggested investigating the energy spike on the Mushroom Planet instead.[2]
Trivia[]
- The three Scavengers wear bird masks in the colors green, purple and gray. Artist Tyson Hesse confirmed that the masks and their shapes were based on Jet, Wave and Storm, all of whom are members of the Babylon Rogues.[3]
- The Scavengers only speak an alien language in Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Official Movie Pre-Quill.
- In Sonic the Hedgehog 2: The Official Movie Pre-Quill, only two of the scavengers appear, but three members are featured in the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 film.
