Sasha Cat is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. She is a young Mobian cat who was orphaned when Dr. Eggman rose to power. She was later left in the care of Rosie Woodchuck along with Rory Bear and Snaggle Tiger.

Appearance

Sasha is a humanoid cat about half Sally Acorn's height. She has mostly black fur with differently colored fur on her front torso, muzzle, inner ears and around her eyes. In most presentations, she has small bangs and a thin tail.

Sasha's coloration has been inconsistent between artists. In most cases, her fur is black and violet while otherwise black and white, and her eye color has switched between blue, gold and purple. Design details also varies; some artists has given her longer, somewhat poofy hair. Sasha tends to wear a green vest and boots, while artist Jon Gray give her a blue heart-themed outfit.

History

When Dr. Eggman rose to power on Mobius, Sasha lost her parents and friends to Eggman's robot hordes. Escaping to Knothole, she was left in the care of Rosie Woodchuck along with Rory Bear and Snaggle Tiger. Taking residence at Rosie's orphanage, Sasha, Rory and Snaggle were sometimes babysat by Mina Mongoose after she arrived in Knothole.[1][2] One time, Sasha, Snaggle and Rory watched a poor play about the early adventures of the Knothole Freedom Fighters.[3] Another time, while Sasha and her friends were sick, they had Rosie tell them a story, but Sasha was highly critical about the sudden romance between the characters.[4]

Later, Sasha, Rory and Snaggle joined up to throw rocks at Monkey Khan for him ruining Mina's concert until Sonic stopped them. Though the orphans upped Sonic with some arguments, Monkey Khan apologized to them, and Sonic scolded them by promising to tell Rosie about their inexcusable behavior. When Bunnie was later taken over by the Iron Queen, Sasha, Rory and Snaggle were saved by Monkey Khan and the trio tearfully convinced him to help Bunnie.[5] They later supported Monkey Khan when he doubted himself, having forgiven him for his earlier actions before leaving with Sally.[6]

Personality

Sasha is sometimes shy around new people. She is usually the "brains" of her friends and can get bossy when the boys do not listen to reason (or at least her brand of reason).[7] Being very child-like, Sasha can be somewhat precocious, but she has a good heart. Like her friends, Sasha sometimes feels responsible for the loss of her other friends because she was too little and weak to help.[6]

Trivia

  • Sasha Cat from Light Mobius looks different from Sasha from the Prime Zone. For example, Sasha Cat from the Prime Zone have gold/purple eyes, whereas Sasha Cat from Light Mobius has green eyes.
