The Sandoom[1] is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is mass-produced, thumbtack-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman.
Appearance[]
Sandooms are flat Badniks based on thumbtacks. They have gray circular bases, and red heads. They have small holes in their tops which allow for a small silver spike to protrude from their head.
Overview[]
In Sonic Blast, the Sandooms are enemies that appear exclusively in Yellow Desert Zone. In gameplay, they slide around the ground and eject spikes from their heads. However, they make no effort to directly attack the player. Because Sandooms only protrude their spikes after stopping on a ledge, they can easily be destroyed with a Spin Dash or Spin Attack if the player is careful. Like all of the Badniks in the 8-bit titles, the Sandooms are not powered by Animals.
Powers and abilities[]
The Sandooms are able to protrude spikes from their heads, but they can only do this when they stop moving.
Trivia[]
- The Sandoom's name is a portmanteau on "sand" and "doom," and may be an overall pun on "sand dune."
