Sand Scorpion

in Sonic and the Secret Rings in the Sand Oasis. It appears from a quicksand pit before Sonic battles it. It was created by Erazor Djinn.

Appearance

Sand Scorpion is a giant, purple scorpion. It has eight eyes (seven are actually on its two stingers, while the last one is its main eye), and red marks on its stinger. It has purple and red legs, torso, and eye lids. It has red eyes.

History

Once after Sonic and Shahra find King Shahryār, who was then kidnapped after a breif talk, or they meet Ali Baba, they go to an area full of sand, when suddenly, they find a giant scorpion summoned in a quicksand pit by Erazor. Before Sonic and the Sand Scorpion fight, Sonic makes a promise to Shahra that he will defeat the monster even without Shahra's powers. Once after the scorpion is defeated, the Yellow World Ring is obtained.

The Sand Scorpion's attacks include throwing a barrage of bombs at Sonic, stabbing him with one of its tails, and slamming one of its tails onto him. All of these attacks can be avoided by stopping. Performing a homing attack on one of its tails after a stab or slam allowed Sonic to use the eyes in those places to reach the eye on its back, its primary weak point.

After three homing attacks on the eye on its back, the Sand Scorpion turns around so it can attack Sonic in another way; an eye concealed in a large eye of mouth. Sonic will have to attack this eye repeatedly to inflict damage onto it. After five attacks on that eye, the Scorpion's eyes will turn black and will collapse, screaming with its last breath. This will give Sonic the Yellow World Ring.
