The Royal Palace[1] is a location that appears in the Sonic Underground television series. It is one of the many palaces originally owned by the Hedgehog Dynasty, before Robotnik took over Mobius.

Appearance[]

The palace is one seemingly made of gold, with a large central dome, a few towers, what looks like a carriage house or Royal Mews (for the mechanical horses) and a tall section in the back. The interior has a similarly futuristic aesthetic—metal walls, portholes with air duct grilles, and occasionally a few candles held up on sconces. The only known interior room is the grand ballroom. The front entrance is a pediment with columns. Pointy spires are adorned atop every tower and even the central dome.

History[]

Past[]

The Royal Palace originally was supposed to be one of many grand residences of Queen Aleena and her three children, but when Robotnik usurped Mobius, he used it for his own needs rather than demolish it or modify it with his Destroyer.

TV series[]

Season one[]

Dr. Robotnik wanted the Debutante Ball to be held at the Royal Palace, as yet another trap for the Queen and her children. It was held in the ballroom of the palace, in which Princess Sonia—who was also in attendance—would be officially ordained into mobian polite society. Many great nobles and barons, as well as their ladies, were in attendance as well. After the doorman announced her, however, the ballroom was attacked.

Afterwards, the palace was not seen again due to the sudden cancellation of Sonic Underground.
