The Royal Guard[1] is a group that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog television series. It is a group of military bodyguards responsible for guarding the royal line of the kingdom of Mobotropolis.[1]

History[]

TV series[]

Past[]

Somehow ascending to become a Royal Guard, Antoine Depardieu would join the Knothole Freedom Fighters and aid them in their cause of overthrowing Dr. Robotnik's rule.[2] As the sole Royal Guard in that group, Antoine's duty was to Princess Sally and guard the Lake of Rings.[1] Despite his cowardly nature, Antoine continued to assist the Knothole Freedom Fighters over the next eleven years.

Season one[]

SatAM111-Dirk

Dirk, a Royal Guard residing in Lower Mobius.

When Antoine, Sally and Sonic were brought to Lower Mobius by Griff, they were greeted by Dirk, a residential Royal Guard, upon their arrival. As he gave them a salute, Antoine responded back with the same gesture. Dirk himself soon after worked closely together with Griff when they discovered that Lower Mobius's energy crystal was on its last legs. When Ratbots later invaded Lower Mobius, Dirk tried to defend his home until Sonic came and defeated the Ratbots.[1]

Uniforms[]

The Royal Guard uniform mainly consists of a blue jacket with shoulder straps. However, they may display distinguished design details of their own: Antoine Depardieu's uniform has red details and possesses red cuffs, while Dirk's uniform is less details but possesses a neck strap.
