Roulette Road is a race track that appears in Team Sonic Racing. It is based off the track of the same name from Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed.
Description[]
Roulette Road is inspired by Casino Park, with some elements of BINGO Highway added to the design. Set during the cloudy twilight time, this racing circuit is located in a big theme park/city, specifically Casino Park itself. In the background are flying grandstands on which several Chao sit and cheer for the racers, towers made of colossal red dice, giant casino chips stacks that sometimes form arches over the road with pictures of Sonic, Amy, Tails, and Knuckles on them, moving decks of cards, giant roulettes, neon lights, and slot machines. The playing cards that originally decorated the forked road are absent; instead, floating cards can be seen flying around and constructing towers and tunnels in various parts of the track.
Gameplay[]
The green portion of the track is riddled with chips that fall upon racers, harming them, but their shadows tell where they will appear before they land. This allows the player to either get out of the way or to release a drift in the form of a boost that can knock the racer through the pieces without the racer taking any damage. A third option is to fire a projectile-based Color Power, which will safely eliminate the piece so that the player can continue driving or drifting without the need to alter their course.
Along this track are also stacks of large casino chips which Power-Type characters can bash through and earn Rings from in the process. Alternatively, the player can destroy these casino chip stacks using Wisp power-ups. If anyone else besides a Power-Type character collides with a casino chip stack, they will take damage and spin out temporarily.
Overview[]
Roulette Road is a complicated circuit. The starting stretch starts out with a straight road. Shortly after the race begins however, the road takes a dive straight down before tunring upward and leading straight up the structure it is on. On this stretch leading upward, the road divides as it moves in-between giant slot machine wheels. However, they quickly remerge once past these wheels. Afterward, the player goes through a loop that leads them onto a road made of purple glass that is turned 180 degrees around. After a while though, the road twists around itself, causing the player to race around with the right side up. After that, the road takes a sharp turn to the right, making it swing around a giant roulette wheel.
After making it through this swing, the player arrives on a road that is designed like a giant green poker table. Along this section are also stacks of casino chips that serve as obstacles. Once through this section, the road will wind left and right for a while before taking a sharp turn to the left. The road will then lead through several neon gates that resembles the ace of spades. Just ahead of that, the road splits in two, leaving the player to choose one of these roads: the one on the right with the blue carpet or the one on the left with the red carpet. Regardless of the player's choice, both roads are strikingly similar, possessing sharp turns that lead downward. Eventually though, the roads reunite into one road, which then takes a sharp turn to the right and leads straight up to the finish line.
Roulette Road also has its own mirror image version of it where the left and right sides are interchanged.
