Rouge's Landing

Rogue's Landing (青の空賊島[1] Ao no Kūzoku-tō?, lit. "Blue Sky Pirates' Island") is a track that appears in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, representing Skies of Arcadia. It is also the home course of Vyse.

Description[]

The setting for Rogue's Landing is at sunset, at an island haven where the Blue Rogues meet and trade. However, the Valuan Armada has arrived at the islands to attack the Blue Rogues, firing cannonballs at the track and destroying it in the process. The first lap has the Valuan Armada ships flying to the island, preparing to fire. The second lap has them firing at the town below them, destroying the surrounding buildings and even the track, with some ships being shot down in the process. By the time the racers reach the final lap, the Blue Rogues mobilize as they take on the Valuan Empire and as a result of the ferocious air battle, the entire track is in ruins, meaning the racers have to take to the skies for the remainder of the race. In this part, the racers weave through air mines littered throughout the course, while following the Delphinus, Vyse's ship.

Skies of Arcadia fans can expect to find ships and other features like the Delphinus, the Lynx, the Hydra, the Albatross, Rhaknam the arcwhale and Pirate Island. Moonstone showers can also be seen falling by the Silver Moon.

Overview[]

The player starts off in the village. As soon as the race starts, there will be a couple of curves to the right followed by a fork. At that fork, the player must take the left route, but can take the right route for a shortcut. At the end of the fork is a transformation gate into plane mode. As soon as the player transforms into plane mode, they will fly over a neighborhood. At the other side, the player must fly through the tunnel ahead, but can fly over that tunnel to find a Super Pickup with three drones. At the end of the tunnel is another transformation gate back into car mode. Right afterwards, another fork will show up. At that fork, the player must take the left route, but can take the right route for a shortcut. If the player takes the left route, another fork will show up. At that fork, the player must take the left route, but can take the right route for a shortcut. At the end of the fork on this route is a curve to the right followed by a bridge over the shortcut. At the other side of the bridge is a curve to the left, followed by one last fork. If the player takes the right route at the entire fork, they will transform into boat mode. Along the way, the player can jump over the main track to gain a boost. Afterwards is a wide path similar to the one in Dragon Canyon. Right after it ends, the player will transform back into car mode to return to the main track. The finish line will await ahead. It will mark the end of each lap. In the other two laps, this entire process will be similar. The only difference is that the Valúan Empire is causing chaos to the entire track.

Trivia[]

  • Because of this level and Vyse, Skies of Arcadia is the only RPG series represented in the entire Sega Superstars/All-Stars series beyond minor references in achievement names.
