The Rocky Jungle Zone is a location that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a jungle located in Soumerca, and is home to Moss the Sloth and the Soumerca Egg Army.

History[]

Past[]

Sometime in the past, both Mighty the Armadillo and Ray the Flying Squirrel had traveled here to seek advice from Moss the Sloth, as Mighty wanted to tame his anger.[1]

Shattered World Crisis[]

Act One[]

Sometime later, the Soumerca Egg Army had found the white Chaos Emerald, and planned to send it off to the Death Egg, but were assigned by Dr. Eggman to keep the emerald so an ambush can be set up for the Freedom Fighters.[2] Thus, E-113 Xi was sent by Eggman to help guard the Egg Army base.[1] Eventually, Sonic the Hedgehog, Amy Rose, and Sally Acorn traveled to the Rocky Jungle Zone to retrieve a Chaos Emerald, but were ambushed by E-113 Xi. Luckily, Mighty and Ray helped the three heroes out by defeating Xi. After explaining the plan to retrieve the Chaos Emerald from the Egg Army base, the five heroes infiltrated the Egg Army base, only to be ambushed by Egg Boss Thunderbolt. The heroes were then electrocuted by an Egg Army machine, but, because of the dark concentrated energy he inhaled days earlier merged with the amount of stress he's dealing with, Sonic transforms into a "werehog".[1]

Sonic, as the Werehog, begins to unleash his anger at the Egg Army, and quickly subdues Thunderbolt. Mighty tells the Freedom Fighters to retrieve the Chaos Emerald while he attempts to reason with Sonic to stop. Mighty's words are altered by the influence of Dark Gaia energy inside Sonic, but luckily, Amy and Sally reason with Sonic about how he strives to protect nature and his friends, which causes Sonic to stop and realize what he's done. With the Chaos Emerald in hand, Sally and Amy head back to the Sky Patrol, while Sonic stays at the Rocky Jungle Zone to control the Werehog inside him.[3]
