Dr. Eggman, Sonic Adventure 2

The Rocket Launcher is one of Miles Tails Prower's and Dr. Eggman's special moves in Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. When using this technique, the user fires a missile barrage from their mech.

Description[]

Tails' pose when using Rocket Launcher.

When performing the Rocket Launcher, the user unfolds a rectangular missile launcher on the back of their respective mech and fires a barrage of twelve missiles into the air, which will then pinpoint and rain down on the opponent. After usage, the missile launcher retracts into the mech. In gameplay, the Rocket Launcher is a powerful move which automatically homes in on the opponent, and the missiles are fast enough to catch up to the opponent when running. Should the missiles take too long to reach their target, however, they will eventually disappear.

Eggman's variant of Rocket Launcher.

The Rocket Launcher is first performed by Tails and Eggman during the boss battles against them in their respective stories. Here, the users will begin performing the Rocket Launcher after their health has been reduced to half. The attack can be dodged by outrunning the missiles until they disappear.

Rocket Launcher can only be performed by the player by playing as Tails or Eggman in the games' two-player mode. To use it, the player must press DreamcastB/SNNBGAMECUBEDISCO/Gamecube X Button after collecting 40 Rings. To use it again, the player has to collect another 40 Rings.

Trivia[]

  • After being used by the non-playable character during boss battles in Story Mode and then restarting the battle, the character that uses it will still have the Rocket Launcher activated on their mech.
