The Robotnik Express[1] is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It was a train that was used by Dr. Ivo Robotnik to transport his DYNAMAC-3000 weapon to the western side of Mobius.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The Robotnik Express resembles a large gray express train, with numerous red striped cars all being pulled by an engine. Some of said cars have the words "Robotnik Express" printed on their sides. On its interior the Robotnik Express possesses several corridors and storage areas.[1]
Features and traits[]
In addition to being capable of high-speed travel, the Robotnik Express possesses at least one mounted laser cannon, which is capable of firing a powerful beam at anything within its range.[1]
History[]
A Robot Rides the Rails[]
During a mission to retrieve information in Robotropolis, Sally Acorn jumped on top of the Robotnik Express and climbed inside with Nicole in hand. She quickly discovered the deactivated DYNAMAC, but was soon caught by Geoffrey St. John. Meanwhile, Sonic attempted to board the Robotnik Express, only to be shot by a laser mounted on the train. Soon, Geoffrey's men, Dolph and Jean-Claude, attempted to stop the engine of the Robotnik Express, but accidentally activated a fail-safe and the DYNAMAC in the process. The DYNAMAC then went on a rampage against Sonic (who had successfully boarded the Robotnik Express with the help of Tails), Geoffrey, and Sally on the still moving train, in addition to attacking Rotor and Antoine on their nearby plane. Realizing he would not be able to defeat the DYNAMAC physically, Sonic used a Scrambler provided by Rotor to disable the DYNAMAC's systems, prompting Dolph and Jean-Claude to fire upon it, completely destroying the robot. Having defeated all Robotnik's forces on the Robotnik Express, the Knothole Freedom Fighters and Rebel Underground decided to make use of the train's resources, while Geoffrey took control of the Robotnik Express itself.[1]
Trivia[]
- The Robotnik Express shares its name with a train from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog television series.
