Robotnik's guard robots are a group that appears in Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. They are a line of robots created by Dr. Robotnik, charged with protecting him and assisting him with his schemes.

Description[]

Design[]

The guard robots are round in shape, much like Dr. Robotnik, and come in various sizes, mostly around the size of Robotnik himself. Their bodies are gray and covered in spikes, with spiked spheres capable of protruding machine guns for "hands".

History[]

Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie[]

Welcome to Robotropolis[]

Robotnik's guard robots appeared in the Presidential House when Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower arrived at Old Man Owl's behest. Two of them attempt to shoot at the pair as a "welcoming gift" from Dr. Robotnik, but were destroyed, while a larger group of them held the President and his daughter Sara captive.

Sonic Vs. Metal Sonic!![]

A group of guard robots later appear in Robotropolis carrying the destroyed remains of Metal Robotnik into view, with Sara and Dr. Robotnik inside.

Trivia[]

  • In addition to their resemblance to Metal Robotnik, the guard robots' spiked grey appearance makes them quite similar to the Swatbots appearing in various other Sonic the Hedgehog media, particularly their Archie Comics incarnation, and also serve a similar role.
