The Robot Generator (エッグジェネレータ Eggu Jenerēta?, lit. "Egg Generator") is an object that appears in Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie. It is located in Dr. Robotnik's living place in his home city of Robotropolis, where it was eventually guarded by Metal Robotnik.

At the beginning of the film, Dr. Robotnik tells Sonic and the President that the Robot Generator had supposedly become unstable due to the increased electricity being generated and needed to be shutdown before dawn the next day or it would cause a massive explosion that would affect the entire planet. Sonic accepts the request for assistance and starts his journey to the Robotropolis with Tails.
Sonic Vs. Metal Sonic!![]
When Sonic managed to shut the Robot Generator down, he became trapped in it as his life data was scanned and eventually downloaded into Hyper Metal Sonic, who was inside it, revealing the generator to be part of Robotnik's plan. After that the Robot Generator collapsed in pieces into an abyss.
