Robolactus[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. He is the giant planet-eating robotic descendant of Dr. Ivo Robotnik.[1]
Appearance[]
Robolactus bears a strong resemblance to his ancestor, Dr. Ivo Robotnik, possessing an Overlander physique, a heavyset gut, and an orange mustache. However, Robolactus is much larger, easily reaching planetary proportions. He also wears a full purple and lavender body armor, complete with a red "R" insignia on his chest and a helmet with bend horns and a transparent visor covering his eyes.
History[]
Past[]
The robotic descendant of Dr. Ivo Robotnik from Mobius, Robolactus would roam the universe, guided by his herald Silver Snively, in search of planets to feed on. Once a planet has been chosen, Robolactus would hook his Planet Juicer up to it and suck out the life force of the planet with it. Once he has finished consuming a planet's life force, Robolactus would then move onto the next planet, driven by his ever-growing hunger.[1]
Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy[]
Eventually, Robolactus set his sights on Bluto. As he hooked his Planet Juicer onto the planet, the Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy tried to stop him. The heroes tried to attack and disable his Planet Juicer, but Robolactus proved too powerful to stop. As the heroes continued their attack though, Robolactus lost his patience and decided to incinerate the entire solar system. However, he was stopped by Silver Snively, who convinced Robolactus that the planets in this system were not nutritious enough and had him seek out the Sharks' home planet instead.[1]
Inside Job[]
Eventually, Robolactus was caught by the Zone Cops and thrown in the Zone Jail in the No Zone with Silver Snively.[2]
Personality[]
A galactic glutton in every aspect, Robolatus is driven by his singular goal of sating his ever-growing hunger. To this end, he is willing to condemn entire planets to destruction for the sake of draining their life forces for his own needs, showing a total disregard for all existing life, whom he views as insects in comparison to himself. He is similarly very wrathful; when the Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy started to wear his patience thin, he opted to destroy the entire solar system in retribution. However, he is not without an reasonable side to himself, as he was persuaded by his herald to spare a planet in favor of a more nutritious one.[1]
Powers and abilities[]
Robolactus is an immensely powerful being. By his own claims, he can incinerate an entire solar system on his own. Even the combined might of the Freedom Fighters of the Galaxy could only annoy him at best.[1]
Rolocatus is capable of firing optical blasts that can knock someone of Hawkhawk's caliber out in a single shot. He is also capable of flight, can survive in space without a spacesuit, and has incredible strength matching his size, swatting away both Hawkhawk and Rotor-27 away like they were gnats.[1]
