The Robians acted as the primary labor force for Dr. Ivo Robotnik in Robotropolis and in various territories across Mobius. For some unexplained reason, the Robians within Robotropolis regained their free will after Robotnik's death and wanted to separate from the main Mobian population and have their own home in Knothole, feeling that they would never be accepted back into the Mobian population. Eventually, however, they learned to live together in peace. During Sonic and Tails' quest to track down Ixis Naugus, they encountered Robians in the Kingdom of Mercia, Sand Blast City and the Great Rainforest that were anything but free. While the Robians of Mercia remained under the control of the High Sherrif, the Robians in the latter two regions had no commander, but wandered around aimlessly in hordes firing at anyone that strayed into their path with their opti-burst arrays. When Dr. Eggman took over Dr. Robotnik's position, all the Robians were all bent to his will, and increased in number when the Shadowbots invaded Knothole. Only the Sword of Acorns could restore their free will. Currently, Jules Hedgehog is the last existing Robian, as the Bem reversed the roboticization effect on everyone else except him-as well as the Dragons, whose magical nature prevented their return to normal-because reversing the effects would cause his war wounds to return, which would then lead to his death. Due to her own roboticized parts being replaced with mechanical prosthetics, Bunnie Rabbot was similarly unaffected. Sonic Man Profile

Sonic Man, an example of a Robian, from Mega Man #50.

Robian is a term that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is a term applied to roboticized mobians.

History

At some point after his invasion, Dr. Eggman seized the Roboticizer for himself and began using it to transform a sizeable amount of mobians into emotionless robian slaves until the device was rendered ineffective.[1][2]

When Eggman reset the Prime Zone with the second Genesis Wave, in collaboration with Dr. Wily, they used Roboticization, combined with robotic technology from Wily's native Earth in the year 20XX to turn Sonic's friends into the Roboticized Masters.[3] Not long after, the same duo used a new roboticization procedure on Sonic to create Sonic Man.[4]
