Rings are objects that appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog film. They are used for opening portals to wherever the user desires, and are used primarily by Sonic the Hedgehog.
Description
Powers and traits
Rings can open portals to nearly anywhere, as long as the user has seen the location. However, these portals are temporary.
History
Longclaw gave Sonic the rings when escaping the Echidna tribe, transporting him to another planet.
At some point, Sonic ended on Earth and lived hidden in a cave in Green Hills. When he was discovered, he attempted to flee to a Mushroom-filled planet, but was tranquilized by Tom Wachowski, causing him to drop the rings onto a building in San Francisco.
Later, Tom would use the rings to assist Sonic in banishing Robotnik to the Mushroom Planet. At the end of the movie, it is revealed Tails also can use ring portals.
Trivia
- These Rings are most likely inspired by the Giant Ring from the video games.
