The Ring-Forge is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics.
Description[]
Appearance[]
The Ring-Forge is a silver device with a large red magnet attached to it.
Features and traits[]
When in use, the Ring-Forge glows a golden yellow color similar to that of the Rings that it is capable of creating. According to Nate, the Ring-Forge needs the Chaos Energy within a Chaos Emerald in order to properly create the Rings.
History[]
The initial prototype of the Ring-Forge was created by Nate Morgan during the time when he lived in Megaopolis. However, due to his assistant at the time, Julian, tricking him, assuring Morgan that he had checked the calibrations of the Ring-Forge himself, Morgan went ahead. Assured, Morgan then tested the prototype Ring-Forge, but it blew up and caused massive damage to the building they were in. Nate Morgan was sent to court and charged with various crimes, such as endangering public lives, noise pollution, and sedition.
Some time after he was exiled from Overland, Nate built a proper, completed Ring-Forge, which was smaller and actually worked, unlike it's prototype. This was due to the fact that Nate now had access to a Chaos Emerald, which helped him fix the flaws that were preventing the Ring-Forge from working, said gem being provided to him by Frederick Acorn.
Due to fearing that the Ring-Forge would fall into the hands of evil people like Ixis Naugus or Kodos, Nate Morgan disposed of the Ring-Forge in a lake, hoping that no one would find it, although this did lead to the Lake of Rings being created.[1]
