The Rhino Metal[1] (リノメタル Rinometaru?) is an enemy that appears in Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Adventure 2: Battle. It is a robot deployed by the military organization Guardian Units of Nations, and a member of the Rhino series.

Appearance

The Rhino Metal resembles a Rhino Jet with thick armor.

Overview

The Rhino Metal usually patrols a set area, but will rev up and ram the player should they approach. It delivers powerful attacks, but is quite easy to sidestep, causing it to miss the player and potentially fall off a ledge. Upon its destruction, it awards the player one hundred points. The only ways to destroy them are to use Sonic's Magic Hands or touch them while the playable character is invincible.

Trivia

  • The Rhino Metals seem to be bound by obstacles, as in Sky Rail, a Rhino Metal cannot cross a fire line created by the fire skulls.
    • This may be an oversight by the developers, as it remains in its ramming animation even while blocked by a fire line.
