Autonomous tank with a spring mounted on its back.

— Description, Sonic the Hedgehog Encyclo-speed-ia

The Rhino Cannon[1] (リノスプリング[2] Rino Supuringu?, lit. "Rhino Spring") is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, tank-based robot deployed by the military organization Guardian Units of Nations, and a part of the Rhino Series.

Appearance[]

Resembling a cross between a platform and a tank, the Rhino Cannons possess flat blue bodies with a red stribe along the sides, a pair of gray and black treads with blue wheels and yellow hub caps inside them, black upper covers for said treads with a white upper section, two gray rocket-like propulsion devices on the sides with yellow and blue exhausts, a yellow eye with a white and black frame on the front, and a blue cap each on top of their eyes which has a red line around its lower half and a white and red symbol on the front. Lastly, they have a blue spring with a white and red center on their backs.

Overview[]

In Sonic Rush, the Rhino Cannons appear as enemies. They are encountered exclusively in Huge Crisis.

In gameplay, Rhino Cannons drive back and forth between set points, and will periodically charge at the playable character, should they get within their range. Some Rhino Cannons appear by teleporting. Due to their springs, Rhino Cannons will bounce the player upwards if they land of on top of them. Despite this, Rhino Cannons can be damaged from their sides, although they take two hits worth of damage in order to defeat. Their springs are also useful for reaching Bomb Hawks.

Powers and abilities[]

Rhino Cannons are equipped with Springs that can repel physical aerial attacks. They can also teleport and attack by ramming.
