The Reverie (レヴァリー Revu~arī?) is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is an ancient relic with the capability to translate dreams into reality,[1] with its guardian being Ariem. It now is in a "Dormancy Protocol" for 1000 years, which makes it unable to make dreams become reality. This is also supposed to make people and creatures unable to enter it, but Tails has found a way to let creatures enter it during this protocol.
Description[]
The Reverie is an antique contraption imbued with the mystical power to transform dreams into reality.
Game appearances[]
Sonic Dream Team[]
The Reverie appears for the first time in Sonic Dream Team. It is found by Dr. Eggman, who uses it to manifest his bizarre dreams into reality. These include his wish of world domination, which poses a threat to Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose. Sonic and Amy had to find his friends through various dreamscapes Eggman had created to stop his cause.
Trivia[]
- The Reverie is similar in function to the Dream-A-Ma-Jig from the Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog episode, "Boogey-Mania". Both machines have the power to bring people or objects created from a person's dream world into the waking world.
- The Reverie could be based on dreamcatchers.
