The Retro Neon Trail is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a trail used to modify the playable character's appearance and boost their rewards.

Description

When equipped, the Retro Neon Trail takes the appearance of a textured neon streak that the playable character leaves behind them while they move around or surrounds them like an aura when they stand still. This trail stretches out from behind the playable character until it eventually fades away.

Overview

In Sonic Speed Simulator, the Retro Neon Trail is a collectible trail of the "Epic" rarity. It can be unlocked at the orange and yellow vending machine in Hill Top. When purchasing from this vending machine, the player has a 15% chance of getting a Retro Neon Trail. It could be unlocked during the "Mechanic Tails' Ultra Prize Zone" Event at the Spin Wheel in Green Hill Obby 2 after the player has obtained the sixth tool drop reward from that Spin Wheel's drop list. When using this Spin Wheel, the player has a 7% chance of getting a Retro Neon Trail.

In gameplay, the Retro Neon Trail lets the playable character produce this trail's textured streak behind them as they move around. In addition, when equipped, the Retro Neon Trail will grant additional Experience Points whenever the playable character obtains a Chaos Orb and additional Rings whenever they pick up a single Ring. The player can as well level up a Retro Neon Trail for a cost of Rings and/or Red Star Rings at the Upgrade Machine, with level 25 being the maximum level. Leveling up a Retro Neon Trail will improve its reward-granting attributes. Additionally, the player can evolve a Retro Neon Trail by collecting five Retro Neon Trails, leveling all of them up to maximum, and bringing them to the Fusion Machine. Evolving a Retro Neon Trail will combine the Retro Neon Trails into a single evolved trail at level 1, with boosted base stats compared to the un-evolved version.
