Those optical weapons refract laser energy and scatter in different directions. Interesting...

Shadow the Hedgehog, Shadow the Hedgehog

The Refractor[1][2] (リフラクター[3] Rifurakutā?) is an object that appears in Shadow the Hedgehog. A Black Arms-exclusive handgun, it is a laser-type weapon usable by both enemies and the player.

Description[]

The Refractor is an organic-looking, red-colored, oblong weapon. It has a barrel opening resembling pink flesh and a grip on the back of the rear.

Overview[]

In gameplay, the Refractor can only be found in certain Stages within the Black Comet. They can be wielded by Black Assassins, who will use them against the player.

Refractors can be dropped by defeated enemies that wield them or released from breakable Containers. Touching one will make the playable character pick it up automatically, and pressing Square/SNNBGAMECUBEDISCO/XboxX (whether on the ground or in mid-air) will fire it. As a laser weapon, the Refractor can fire a powerful laser beam capable of shooting through multiple objects and enemies. In addition, its shots can bounce off walls. A Refractor can fire a total of twenty shots, and once those run out, it becomes useless. However, it can be reloaded with another twenty shots by picking up another Refractor.
