The Red Rock is an object that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. It is one of the Extreme Gears constructed by Miles "Tails" Prower so that the rest of the team could keep up with Sonic the Hedgehog during their missions.[1]

Description[]

The Red Rock's design is that of a long and sleek red board with a thin silver footing plate running down the middle. On each side of this silver plate is also a yellow plate with black diagonal stripes.

History[]

Sonic Riders[]

After Sonic returned to Freedom HQ, beaten and bruised by the Babylon Rogues, the hedgehog was at a loss of how to stop this group, who had promised to come to attack Knothole the next day. Tails, however, presented a solution to this problem, by giving themselves their own Extreme Gear, the Red Rock included, so they could face the Rogues on even grounds. Though Tails pointed out that the boards were prototypes, they were all functional.[1]

The next day, Knuckles arrived on the Red Rock outside of Knothole, along with Sonic and Tails on their own Extreme Gear, and managed to intercept the Babylon Rogues with their Extreme Gear. Knuckles then went after Storm the Albatross on the Red Rock, both of them realizing that they have nearly equal strength. Eventually though, the heroes were successful in defeating the Babylon Rogues and driving them off.[1]

The Red Rock also appeared briefly when Knuckles was seen carrying it through Freedom HQ.[2]
