Contrary to their name, the Red Killer Bees look more like wasps than bees. Like other empowered members of Dark Gaia's Minions, they bear a strong resemblance to their weaker counterpart (Killer Bees), but possess a different color scheme. They have long, thin horns and antennae on their foreheads, and their mouths look like beaks with tusks. Their thoraxes are spherical, with small spikes and four wings, and they have purple smoke emitting from their backs. They also have stingers on the ends of their abdomens that resemble arrowheads. Finally, they have red, pink, magenta and black skin with cyan body markings.
The is one of the types of Dark Gaia's minions that are encountered in Sonic Unleashed. It is a powered-up version of the Killer Bee. Faster, stronger, and smarter than the Killer Bees, these insectoid enemies are some of the most dangerous of Dark Gaia's minions than can be encountered. They only appear during the game's nighttime stages.

Overview
The Red Killer Bees and the other types of Dark Gaia's minions were created at the beginning of Sonic Unleashed. Following the premature awakening of the ancient entity Dark Gaia, the beast was unable to support itself and broke into countless fragments. These fragments then gave birth to Red Killer Bees and the rest of Dark Gaia's minions. They first appear in Arid Sands Night Act II: The City of Sand in the PS2/Wii version and in Dragon Road Night Act 1 in the PS3/Xbox 360 version.

The size of the Red Killer Bees differs between the versions of Sonic Unleashed. In the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version, the Red Killer Bees are a little larger than Sonic the Werehog, but In the Wii/PlayStation 2 version, they are only about half his size.
As an empowered version of the Killer Bees, the Red Killer Bees are much stronger, faster, smarter and have more health than their relatives, and they are by far the fastest of Dark Gaia's minions. Their physical strength is also very high, even for a Dark Gaia minion, and they can deal great damage to Sonic if they have the chance. These attributes make the Red Killer Bees one of the strongest and most dangerous of Dark Gaia's minions, arguably only second to the mini-bosses and actual bosses. Like the Killer Bees, they are highly vulnerable to damage from flying objects.

Overview
In the PS2/Wii version, the Red Killer Bees always appear in large numbers like the Killer Bees, but in the PS3/Xbox 360 version, they always appear alone or in a pair.

In battle, the Red Killer Bees shares the same attack patterns as the Killer Bees. They will circle Sonic to signify they are getting ready to attack, and when attacking, they will strike using their large stingers, either by launching themselves into Sonic from behind at incredible speed or dealing a barrage of stings when up close. The Red Killer Bees also possess wide movement capabilities that let them dodge attacks by either moving out of the player's range or flying into the air for then to launch a counterattack, making it extremely hard to strike them.
Attack Patterns
The Red Killer Bees can fly about a foot above the ground, which gives them completely free movements. They are extremely nimble and acrobatic, and can easily and swiftly dodge attacks from Sonic the Werehog, before launching a quick and potent counterattack.

Upon the reconstruction of Dark Gaia by Dr. Eggman, all of the Red Killer Bees (along with the other types of Dark Gaia's Minions) were returned to the beast, who was later defeated and sealed within the planet's core.
The Red Killer Bees maintain the same attack pattern as the regular Killer Bees, as they lack a projectile attack and resort to jabbing their foes with their stingers. They can quickly launch themselves at the enemy stinger-first from long distances, and they can deal a lightning-fast barrage of jabs with their stingers at their opponent when in close combat. All of these attacks can deal great damage.

The already tricky Killer Bee just got trickier: better, faster and stronger than before.

— Description, Sonic Unleashed[1]

The Red Killer Bee (レッド・キラービー Reddo Kirā Bī?) is an enemy that appears in the nighttime Stages in Sonic Unleashed. They are a variant of Dark Gaia's Minions and an empowered version of the Killer Bee.

Appearance

The size of the Red Killer Bees differs between the versions of Sonic Unleashed. In the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version, the Red Killer Bees are a little larger than Sonic the Werehog, but In the Wii/PlayStation 2 version, they are only about half his size.

Overview

The Red Killer Bees and the rest of Dark Gaia's Minions came into being when Dark Gaia broke apart at the beginning of Sonic Unleashed due to its premature awakening by Dr. Eggman. These fragments were then spread across the earth and became Dark Gaia's Minions, with the Red Killer Bees amongst them. They first appear in Arid Sands Night Act II: The City of Sand in the Wii/PlayStation 2 version and in Dragon Road Night Act 1 in the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version.

The Red Killer Bees are some of the strongest and most dangerous of Dark Gaia's Minions. As an empowered version of the Killer Bees, the Red Killer Bees have faster movements and can deal more damage than their weaker counterparts, making them the fastest and one of the most damaging of Dark Gaia's Minions. They are, however, highly vulnerable to thrown objects. In the Wii/PlayStation 2 version of Sonic Unleashed, the Red Killer Bees always appear in large numbers like the Killer Bees, but in the Xbox 360/PlayStation 3 version, they always appear either alone or in pairs.

Upon the reconstruction of Dark Gaia by Dr. Eggman, all of the Red Killer Bees (along with the other types of Dark Gaia's Minions) were returned to the beast, who was later defeated and sealed within the planet's core.

Powers and abilities

The Red Killer Bees are able to move around by teleporting into an area in a puff of purple smoke. As a Dark Gaia minion, the Red Killer Bees can possess people by latching onto the deepest, darkest part of the heart, and generate despair, negative emotions or even erratic behavior that are completely opposite to the person's personality.

As an empowered version of the Killer Bees, the Red Killer Bees possesses strength, speed and intelligence above that of the regular Killer Bees.[1] With the wings on their backs, the Red Killer Bees can fly and can move swiftly through mid-air. In fact, the Red Killer Bees can move great distances in a matter of split-seconds, making them the fastest of Dark Gaia's Minions. The Red Killer Bees are also quite nimble and acrobatic while in flight, being able to dodge fast attacks with fluid movements.

The Red Killer Bees also possess a barbed stinger which they use to pierce their opponents.
