Red Hot[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. They are a Red Wisp, and the companion of Ashe.
Appearance[]
Red Hot resembles a standard Red Wisp, with a head shaped like a like a flaming teardrop with two small spikes on their top, and three blue eyes that form a triangular pattern on their head. They also have three flame-like tentacles that stem from their bottom.[2]
History[]
Trial by Fire[]
Red Hot would accompany Ashe to the Forest Ridge Zone Campground, and mischievously burn down the park ranger's map, much to his annoyance. Red Hot would then fly away gleefully with Ashe.[2]
Red Hot and Ashe would later get trapped at night when the forest caught fire, but were thankfully located by Tangle the Lemur and Belle the Tinkerer. After Ashe explained how Red Hot was not responsible for the forest being ablaze, he followed Tangle and Belle, only to be forced to the edge of a ravine by a falling tree. Red Hot circled Ashe, attempting to grab him, but was unable to stop the cliff from crumbling, sending Belle, Tangle, Ashe and Motobud careening towards the river below.[1]
Landing in the river, the group found a log to hang onto. As they approached rough waters however, the situation began getting to Ashe, prompting Rod Hot to try and comfort him. Fortunately, Belle managed to keep Ashe calm for Red Hot, and the group eventually made it to the campgrounds via the river, where Red Hot joined Ashe as he was reunited with his father.[3]
Personality[]
Like Ashe, Red Hot is energetic and mischievous, but a good person at heart. They are also easily scared when faced with extreme situations.[2][1]
Powers and abilities[]
Red Hot is able to levitate in midair at will, which serves as their main method of transportation.[2]
As a trait shared by their species, Red Hot is able to generate and store their own unique variant of a powerful energy inside their own body. Red Hot can as well pass on a fraction of this energy by phasing into the recipient. Red Hot can use this energy to produce fire, giving them pyrokinetic powers.[2]

Ashe[]
Red Hot is the domesticated Wisp companion of Ashe. They are both very close, and they love to play together and play innocent pranks on others using Red Hot's fire-based powers. Ashe knows, however, that Red Hot would never start a forest fire on purpose and is thus ready to defend it when it is accused of such crimes.[2][1]
