Red is the protagonist of the Angry Birds franchise. He is a cardinal where in the classic series, he lives on Piggy Island with some of his closest friends and takes care of the eggs. In the film series, he is a native of Bird Island, born as an orphan, and was once rejected and ostracized by his peers, until he became a hero and earned their respect.

Sonic Dash

In Sonic Dash, Red has appeared in both his classic design, formerly as Red until renamed as Epic-Red, and his film-based design. His Epic-Red form was added during the Angry Birds Epic Event, which lasted from 11 June 2015 - 1 July 2015. His film form came much later, with the event introducing this version to the game lasting from 14 March 2024 - 21 March 2024. In the game, both versions of the character have the following gameplay characteristics:

Sonic Forces: Speed Battle

In Sonic Forces: Speed Battle, Red was added as a playable character during the version 4.25.0 update, along with Chuck. In this game, he sports his film-based design only. He has the following gameplay characteristics:

Archie Comics

Red amongst prisoners of the Zone Jail, from Sonic Universe #32.

The classic version of Red makes a brief cameo in Sonic Universe #32, where he is seen as one of the many prisoners of the Zone Jail. He is one of the people Scourge attacks during his attempt to break out of the prison. This was nearly 4 years before his actual crossover debut with Sonic in Sonic Dash.
