Rancheros[1] is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. It is a Scrapnik, an amalgamation of Badnik parts and it once served the Eggman Empire. It now resides on Scrapnik Island as one of E-117 Sigma's assistants.[2]
Appearance[]
Rancheros is an Eggrobo with the right arm of another Badnik. It also wears a pink cap with blue brim. It also has a gray metallic square on its chest. Unlike Florentine and Benedict, Rancheros lacks a jackpack on its back.

At some point in the past, it served for Dr. Eggman and his empire. After being discarded by its creator, it ended in a rocky island with pile of junks.
E-117 Sigma eventually found and rebuilt it. Then, it woke up and was greeted by Sigma to the Scrapniks, such as Ben and Judd. Eventually, it became part of the Scrapniks and named, alongside the other robots, the island that they're standing on as "Scrapnik Island". It also became one of Sigma's helpers.[2]
Scrapnik Island[]
While Sonic and Tails were relaxing outside, Benedict, Florentine and itself were helping Sigma to rebuild the Tornado.[2]
Later, they went to see Tails to tell them that they have finished assessing the damage from the Tornado. It then hold the integrated drive generator, with the help of Benedict to show that it's broken and that they needed a replacement for it. Sigma then ordered it, Benedict and Florentine to check the necessary tools and materials for Tails' repairs.[2]

Personality[]
Rancheros is a robot of free will and has quite a friendly personality, even with the fact that it is mute. It is loyal to Sigma and is quite a helpful assistant.[2]

- The cap that Rancheros wears is identical to Sonic’s cap that Old Man Owl wore at one point in Sonic the Hedgehog: The Movie.
- Rancheros' name is a reference to huevos rancheros, a Mexican breakfast dish containing eggs.
