Sonic the Hedgehog's 900th Adventure[]

Sonic runs into the Rainbow Ravine as he looks for someone to pass the Warp Topaz to. He runs into Blaze, who is out sightseeing with Cream and Cheese. Blaze tells him she got a call from Tails about the situation. She then notes Cream has been quiet since the call. When she asks her what's wrong, she confesses she wants to join Sonic on his adventure even though it's dangerous because she doesn't want another bad doctor to use it for evil again. Blaze and Sonic are taken aback by her outburst, but Sonic makes a quick decision and lets her join, seeing her mind is made up. She cheers with Cream and Sonic tosses the topaz to Blaze, which causes them to warp to Tropical Jungle, Water Palace, Monopole and Red Mountain. Soon after they arrive back in the desert and Blaze thanks Cream, but she says Blaze is the one who saved them. Sonic thanks them for the help but Blaze says they didn't make any progress. Sonic points out they are in the lower part of the gorge now and leaves. They wave goodbye and Blaze notes how Sonic can find the positive in any situation; Cream says that's why adventures are fun with him.[1]

Phantom Riders[]

Nite and Don would help Sonic by fixing the device to activate his Phantom Rider persona and would drive through the desert in The Bad Investment order to reach the next location.[2]

Scattered Pieces[]

Whisper is relaxing at an outdoor cafe. The waitress asks the wolf if she will have anything else, which she responds not yet as she is still waiting for her friend to show up. Whisper is being watched from a distance by Mimic, who comments on how she is out in the open, with her weapon not in immediate reach and in a crowded space, especially knowing Mimic could be any of those people. He comments that Whisper's time with the Restoration made her soft but is shocked she tracked him down to their current location. Mimic then pulls out his knife and decides to go say "hello" to his former comrade.[3]

Mimic attempts to deceive Whisper by disguising himself as Cream and conversing with her. Whisper was able to spot the flaws in his character, noting that Cream was much more polite and she never once referred to Vanilla as 'mummy'. Mimic drops the act and begins discussing with her, noting how many little details her friends has that he has to keep track of and 'justifies' his betrayal of the Diamond Cutters with a sadistic grin on his face. He claims friends are a weakness because they become liabilities and angles you can't account for, noting how Whisper just couldn't help herself. She rebuttals by calmly stating they help uplift her. The octopus admits he respected Whisper for understanding the value of working alone, claiming the reason she got away during the Diamond Cutter's demise because she wasn't there for them. Whisper responds by saying it's a lie, that she was there and Mimic wasn't. Mimic notes that he and the wolf share their resolve to end their conflict, mocking her friends for their pacifistic methods. He also knows that Whisper lured him out by putting her Wispon out of reach, but questions how she'll fire it in a crowded setting. Whisper says she won't fire it at all.

The whole thing was a setup. Silver telekinetically grabs both Mimic and Whisper, ambushing the octopus. He calls her a coward for relying on her friends while she calls him a fool for thinking he can do this alone. Mimic claims he's the only person he could count on and reveals yellow Power Core, activating it to escape Silver's grasp. He manages to get away and shapeshifts into Barry the Quokka, but Tangle had positioned herself prior to catch Mimic mid-transformation and relays the data back to Whisper. The wolf directs Silver to go high and stand by while she lures Mimic out. He attempts to backstab her, only for Whisper to insert her Green Hover Wisp and blast him into the air. Silver temporarily grabs him, forcing Mimic to use his Power Core again to escape captivity. Tangle ambushes the fleeting Mimic by bouncing off the ground and grabbing him with his tail. Whisper activates her Orange Rocket Wisp to pursue. Tangle and Mimic crash land into the earth. She cuts off any attempt for Mimic to speak by pummeling him, denying his ability to do so because she hurt his friends. Mimic shapeshifts into an orange, hairy monster and roars in refusal to go out like this. Silver catches a tripping Tangle from falling off the cliffside. Whisper activates the Blue Cube mode on her Wispon and bashes Mimic's face in before shifting to Cyan Laser and raining lasers down onto him. Mimic is forced to transform back into his original self. The wolf points her weapon at Mimic, Tangle pleading for Silver to let her go. He doesn't saying she'll fall if he does.

Mimic stabs his Power Core with his blade before Whisper takes her shot, causing it to blow up. Silver finally lets Tangle go as Whisper begins falling, grabbing falling rubble before it hits innocent civilians. Tangle grabs Whisper and her Wispon, calling for the Green Hover Wisp's assistance. It activates and slows their descent, letting Whisper wake up and watch from afar as Mimic's body falls into a river. Whisper begins crying tears of joy, her voice becoming more audible as she calls out for her deceased comrades and cries out that the battle is finally over. Everyone thanks one another for their assistance with Tangle lamenting that he would rather blow up the core than surrender. Whisper's left uncertain of where to go from here, Tangle suggesting that they start by going home. Speaking up once again, Whisper accepts.[4]
