<< Previous stage Shadow Generations
Rail Canyon
Next stage >>

Rail Canyon is the second stage in Shadow Generations, based on the Sonic Heroes stages Rail Canyon and Bullet Station. As with other stages in the game, it is split into two Acts, with Act 1 being a 3D stage that culminates in a Doom Zone section, and Act 2 being a side-scrolling level.

Description[]

Rail Canyon appears to be a western-themed freight station stationed over an open canyon with numerous open rails to be ground on. Eggman's machinery can be seen around, over and cutting into the chasm's walls, such as metal tubes and ginormous wagon wheels, while rock formations and quad-barreled turrets can be seen in the background. Most of the structures built over the canyon that Shadow platforms on bear a red and grey color scheme, with yellow-and-black caution stripes also abundant across both platforms and rails. Rails themselves come in threes, carry Speed Boosters, and bear the same blue-yellow-red coloration seen in Sonic Heroes and can serve as transport for both Shadow and the many Armored trains. Finally, Eggman's insignia can be seen on various pieces of equipment, such as on barrels and above doors.

Story[]

After restoring the Space Colony ARK and obtaining the Doom Spears power, Shadow finds Rail Canyon in White Space and goes through it. When he's there, Doom's Eye appears and takes him to the Doom Zone again. Shadow escapes when he hits the Doom's Eye and goes back to the canyon.

After restoring it, he finds Orbot and Cubot asking for help to build a rocket to escape from White Space. Shadow obtains the Doom Blast power and uses it to find the Boss Gate to the Biolizard.
