Allows you to use the "Scale" custom action. Changes Sonic's size.
The Purple Gem is a purple emerald cut gem, similar to a Sol Emerald that can be equipped on Sonic's Custom Shoes. When used, it allows Sonic to perform Scale, which shrinks him down in size and allows him to jump without limit.
While having set Sonic's Custom Shoes to utilize the Purple Gem's ability, the Purple Gem changes the appearance of the Custom Shoes into a purple pair of shoes resembling Sonic's Hi-Speed Shoes.
Location
In Sonic the Hedgehog (2006), the Purple Gem becomes available at the local shop, once the player clears Sonic's version of Kingdom Valley in the main story. It can then be bought for 14,000 Rings.
