The Puppets are a group that appears in the Sonic the Comic series published by Fleetway Editions. They were a line of criminal puppets with artificial intelligence who sought world dominance, but were destroyed by Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary.
Description[]
Characteristics and culture[]
The majority of Puppets spoke perfectly normal, but looked quite plain to compensate. Their leader had a severe speech problem, replacing all his "p"s and "b"s with "g"s, due to his rather basic tongue, but had a more human-like face and fancier clothes. They were also malevolent by nature.[1]
History[]
Past[]
The Puppets were originally ordinary wooden puppets made by an alien race and given life through intelligence chips implanted in their woodgrain. Unexpectedly through, the Puppets betrayed their creators and sought to invade a planet. Eventually labeled as criminals, the Puppets were brought onboard the prison ship Astratraz to be taken to a prison planet, but they broke free and took over the ship.[1]
Day of the Puppets[]
When Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary arrived in the middle of the revolt during their interdimensional travels, the Puppets overwhelmed the girls and imprisoned with the ship's crew. It was then that the Puppets' accepted Tekno's offer to take them to a planet named Planet Terminus they could invade. Arriving on Terminus, the Puppets began their invasion, only to be eaten by the giant termites infesting the planet, which was Tekno's plan all along.[1]
Trivia[]
- Not all of the Puppet leader's speech is altered. The speech made to throw Amy and Tekno in the cell was in perfect English.
