Professor Victoria, nickname Torii (プロフェッサートリィ Purofessā Torī?), is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. She is a human researcher, historian, archaeologist, and professor at Spagonia University, and a published book author.
Concept and creation[]
Prof. Victoria backstory and personality were written by Evan Stanley.[2]
Appearance[]
Victoria is a female human adult and appears to be of average height. She has blue eyes, taffy pink eyeshadow, and short magenta hair curved into a ball-like shape on either side of her head. For attire, she wears a yellow orange hairpin on her hair and gloves.

Shadow Generations[]
Some time prior to the events of Shadow Generations, Victoria compiled the remaining pages of Gerald's personal journal and submitted them to Commander Abraham Tower, who wished to have tangible evidence of the ARK incident from 50 years ago.

In TailsTube #11 Victoria made her first full appearance in which she was introduced as a historian and professor at Spagonia University, discussing with Tails and Orbot the history of the Ancients and Dark Gaia.

In TailsTube, a picture of Victoria is seen in when Tails is explaining the difference in habitats between humans and anthropomorphic animals.[3] She is later seen once again, being pictured on a book she has authored, The Mystery of History.[4]
Finally, in TailsTube #11 Victoria made her first full appearance in which she was introduced as a historian and professor at Spagonia University, discussing with Tails and Orbot the history of the Ancients and Dark Gaia.

In Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Victoria makes a brief cameo, being seen in the background on an electronic billboard in Tokyo when Shadow fights Team Sonic. On the billboard are the words "Professor Torī", written in Japanese (プロフェッサートリィ), "Torī" being the Japanese identity of the one known only as "T" in the English translation of Robotnik's journal. The billboard also says "12-30-24 START!", with December 30 being the Japanese release date of Sonic Heroes, and Japanese text that translates to "Online history course". Above her is a speech bubble that translates to "Let's have fun learning history!"

- After her appearance in TailsTube #1, fans speculated as to who the purple-haired lady was, as she was the first human introduced since Sonic Unleashed and was drawn in a distinctly different style compared to the other humans she was presented with. When asked by fans, Ian Flynn simply responded with "#KnowingSmile".[5] After two years of no further appearances or references, Gerald Robotnik's Journal released alongside Shadow Generations. In-universe, the journal was recovered by someone who was only referred to as "T" in her letter to Abraham Tower in most international releases of the journal, with the exception of the Japanese release, which have the author named "Torii" (トリー). A TV spot for Sonic the Hedgehog 3 would later reveal the inclusion of Victoria's cameo on a billboard, with her name written in Japanese--"Professor Torii" (プロフェッサートリィ)--and the date 12-30-24, which also ended up being in the final film. While nothing about the character was revealed on that date, the next day, in TailsTube #10, the character would finally be given an official translated name: "Professor Victoria". In TailsTube #11 she made her first full appearance and her first physical appearance.
