Prim Rouge (プリム[1] Purimu?), also known simply as Prim, is a character that appears in the Sonic Prime television series. She is a white anthropomorphic bat who is the Boscage Maze counterpart of Rouge the Bat who is part of the Scavengers to help protect the forest.
Appearance[]
Prim is a doppelgänger of her mainstream counterpart, albeit with some notable differences. As such, she is an anthropomorphic bat with white fur, turquoise eyes, and a curvy figure. She has large pointy ears, two medium-length eyelashes on each eye, a small black nose on her muzzle, a short pointy tail, and a pair of dark purple wings on her back. Only her head appears to have fur, which flares out into six points at the back. Prim usually wears dark green eyeshadow and has no lipstick. She also has teal markings around her eyes and forehead, and a tuff of hair on her head and overall, more messy fur.
For attire, Prim wears a midriff baring make-shift shirt comprised of leafage, brown gloves held together by more leaves, and worn-out brown pants and shoes made from leafage, both held together by ropes.
History[]
TV series[]
Past[]
Some time prior to Sonic's arrival in the Boscage Maze, Prim and the other Scavengers had been in conflict with Thorn Rose over dominion over the jungle floor and access to its resources.[2]
Season one[]
Prim was first seen being flung skyward, only for Sonic to run into her and her fellow Scavengers, after which they attacked Sonic thinking he was there to steal their supplies. Eventually calming down, Sonic explained his situation to the Scavengers, and Prim explained their situation to Sonic and their conflict with the "monster". Sonic explained he needed the Shatterspace's Shard to get home, and Prim seized the opportunity, lying to Sonic and saying she knows where the Prism Shard is, and that she would take him there if Sonic helped them deal with the monster.
Prim and the other Scavengers, alongside Sonic, soon descended down to the jungle floor in order to scavenge for supplies and while Sonic dealt with the monster. Eventually, the monster attacked, taking out Prim and the others one by one, causing Prim and her friends to retreat back to the treetops.
They go back down, and Sonic tries to make Prim and Thorn have a decent conversation. Prim doesn't show much interest. Eventually, after Sonic made Thorn realize the damage she did to the forest, the Scavengers approach her once again. This time, Prim shows empathy towards Thorn, and they decide to leave their conflict behind.
Season two[]
During the Chaos Council assault, Thorn orders the Scavengers to go to the jungle and fight. Prim strongly refuses. When Sonic shows up, he tries to convince her too. Prim gets angry and would rather have the Council have the Shard so they can return to their usual peace. Sonic goes to battle with Thorn and leaves Prim and the rest up on the trees. A while later, Prim and the Scavengers decide to fight back. She states they have to protect their home. After a long fight, the Council steals the Shard, and is ready to leave the Boscage. Prim gives Sonic a hand in getting high in the air. He is happy she came around and is being helpful.
Season three[]
At some point, Prim went to New Yoke after the Shatterspaces started decaying and was perhaps also surprised to see her New Yoke City lookalike. When Nine rotates the city using Prism's Energy, Prim rescues Denizen 1998 and New Yoke Froggy from falling. She is later seen alongside most of Sonic friends inside the Yoke. She is not happy to be working with the Council after they attacked her forest. While Sonic charges up the energy to create a shield, Prim and Rebel go outside the base in order to protect it from Nine's attacks. The shield is completed just in time, as Prim and Rebel were guarding the Yoke from Grim Birdies. Some time later when Sonic makes a deal with Nine, Prim and the rest go to the Grim in order to assist him.
Prim and all of Sonic's friends engage in battle against Nine's Grim Troopers. Prim later follows Rebel's plan and tries to reach the top of Nine's Citadel along with Gnarly and Hangry. They seem to do a good job and actually get close to it, but Nine sees them and attacks. Rebel worries about her counterpart, but Prim flies and grabs Gnarly and Hangry, saving them from a big fall. After a long battle, Prim and the rest confront Nine inside his lab. She comforts Mangey when he is sad about the Shatterverse ending. Once Nine restores the Shatterspaces, Prim is happy to have the Boscage Maze back.
Personality[]
Prim seems to be instinctively sly, selfish, and manipulative. She was willing to lie about knowing the whereabouts of the green Prism Shard in order to get Sonic to help her and her friends scavenge for supplies while he kept Thorn Rose occupied. Prim is calmer and more cautious than the other Scavengers and is the closest thing to a 'leader' that they have, using manipulation to keep them together. However, after meeting Sonic a couple of times, Prim has learned to care about her friends and home, defending them from trouble when necessary.
Powers and abilities[]
As a bat, Prim is capable of flight. She acts as the leader of the Scavengers, demonstrating leadership skills.
Weapons[]
In battle, Prim wields a spear as her weapon of choice.
Relationships[]
Scavengers[]
Prim has a very strict relationship with Gnarly, Hangry and Mangey. She acts as the natural leader of the bunch, and is always telling them to behave. They seem to respect her as a leader, and follow her orders. Despite this, they still get on occasional conflicts. When Thorn and Prim argue, the scavengers always side with Prim, most likely because of her manipulation and influence on them. Despite this, they are considered to be good friends.
Thorn Rose[]
Prim used to have a good relationship with Thorn Rose, as they lived with their friends on the forest. Thorn got angry with them after they unintentionally destroyed the forest while searching for food. She attacked and forced them to leave the forest and live in the trees. When Sonic shows up, Prim uses him to deal with Thorn, but in the end, they let their differences aside and become friends again. However they still argue with each other sometimes, as both have strong personalities.
Sonic the Hedgehog[]
During their first encounter, Prim was hostile towards Sonic the Hedgehog, thinking he was coming for their food. When she finds out Sonic is looking for a Shard, she decides to take advantage of him. She manipulates Sonic into dealing with the "monster" in the forest. Despite her lies, she seems to appreciate him later on, as Sonic was key in fixing her relationship with former friend Thorn Rose. She has issues with Sonic again when he comes back to the Boscage Maze, as Prim didn't care much about the Chaos Council's attack. She later comes around and help, and Sonic is happy to see her protecting her land.
