Popgun is an object that appears in the  . It is Sonic the Hedgehog series Fang the Sniper's weapon of choice and main form of offense.
Concept and creation
One of the screenshots from earlier development of
Sonic Triple Trouble. It shows Fang pointing his revolver at Sonic.
During the development of
, Fang was supposed to have a silver magnum or revolver to further make him resemble a cowboy, but the idea was scrapped due to maturity issues. One infamous development screenshot shows Fang aiming his revolver at Sonic the Hedgehog Triple Trouble Sonic the Hedgehog to scare or shoot him.
The Popgun is a simple blue handheld pistol with a a brown grip and a cork stopper loaded in the barrel.
Features and traits
The popgun is capable of firing cork stoppers instead of bullets. Although these projectiles appear relatively harmless, they can still hit their targets with enough force to hurt them.
Sonic the Fighters
The Popgun made its debut in
. In this game, some of Sonic the Fighters Fang's attacks include him firing his Popgun at opponents, firing it either rapidly or as one massive shot at the opponent.
The Heavy Magician using the Popgun in the guise of
Fang the Sniper, from . Sonic Mania
, and its expansion Sonic Mania , during the fight with the Sonic Mania Plus Heavy Magician in Mirage Saloon Zone, the robot will occasionally take the form of Fang the Sniper, who will jump around on his tail and use the Popgun to fire cork stoppers at different heights in an effort to injure the playable character.

comic series and its spin-offs published by Sonic the Hedgehog IDW Publishing, the Popgun is a weapon that appears in another dimension set in the recent past. It is used by Fang as his primary weapon and main means of offense.
The corks can be spammed at the opponents in , giving them less chance to move. This attack works especially well on CPUs, but can be deflected by a Sonic the Fighters Spin Dash.
