Poison Sumac Blossom is a flora that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics. They are a plant that causes those who come in contact with it to get a rash. Those who are allergic to it can cause a rapid and severe reaction.
Description[]
While its blossoms are tempting to pick, Poison Sumac Blossoms can cause people who come in contact with it to get a rash. Those who are extremely allergic to Poison Sumac Blossoms, such as Sonic the Hedgehog, can immediately begin to get an itching rash that once scratched enough, causes the person to swell up like a balloon.
History[]
While Sonic was picking flowers for Sally, he accidentally went into a valley full of Poison Sumac Blossoms. Before Betty Butterfly could tell him he was in the plant, Sonic was already getting a rash and started to swell up. Betty went to Freedom HQ to get him help. Bunnie Rabbot came to Sonic's aide before he was attacked by Robotnik. She gave him an ointment that was made by her aunt Lulumae, which is made from cornmeal paste with cloves, kudzu root, bramble berry pits, and eye of newt with some other unmentioned ingredients.[1]
Trivia[]
- Poison sumac is a real plant, and does indeed contain the allergen urushiol that causes urushiol-induced contact dermatitis.
