The Pocky is a creature that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing. They are a race of rabbit animals that live on Sonic's world. The Pockies are constantly captured by the Eggman Empire, who uses them as batteries for their various Badniks.
The typical Pocky resembles a light blue rotund domestic rabbit, although their anatomy is remarkably humanoid. They have large heads with large black eyes, white furry muzzles, long ears with light peach inner ears, a small black nose each, and two small buck teeth. Other features include small torsos with white bellies, stubby hind legs, long three-toed feet with white tips and bottoms, a white fluffy tail tassel each, and hair tufts on their foreheads. They also have small arms with five-fingered hands.
Peaceful and non-hostile, Pockies are not known to fight. As such, they are constantly captured by the Eggman Empire.
Imprisonment and freedom
After the War, a group of Pocky-powered Antons and Hoverbys attacked Windmill Village where an amnesiac Dr. Eggman had settled down in. The Pockies inside these Badniks were soon after freed though, after Sonic the Hedgehog and the Chaotix defeated the Badniks containing them.
An unfortunate Pocky was later used by Dr. Eggman and Dr. Starline as a test subject for the Metal Virus in the Final Egg. As a part of this test, the Pocky was exposed directly to a batch of the Metal Virus, transforming it into a Zombot. On Eggman's orders, this Zombot Pocky proceeded to touch a Picky, causing the virus to infect the Picky too. The Zombot Pocky was soon after used by Eggman for another Metal Virus experiment. As a part of the experiment, the Zombot Pocky was brought close to a partially infected Ricky whom the Zombot Pocky touched several times, causing the infection of the Ricky to spread faster. Once the Ricky had been fully transmuted, the Zombot Pocky was left in the Ricky's confinement cell.
- The Pockies are based on the species of the same name that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series.
