The Pirate[1] is an enemy that appears in Sonic Adventure. It is a puppet-like robot created by Dr. Eggman.
Appearance
Pirates looks like generic human-like puppets. They are designed with either skinny or fat figures. They also wear light green, blue, pink or white clothing.
Overview
Pirates can only be encountered in Knuckles the Echidna's version of Casinopolis. In gameplay, they can be found running around in circles on the ships above the main lobby. One of them can also carry an Emerald Shard.
A separate Pirate, designed like a captain, will be pacing along one of the Ships Yards. This Pirate moves faster around the ship than the others do. However, it slows down when turning, allowing Knuckles to catch up to it with an attack.

Trivia
- When defeated, a Pirate drops Rings. This makes the Pirates one of the only three enemy types in Sonic Adventure that are not powered by Animals, the other two being the Cart Kikis and Beats.
