— Description, Sonic Superstars website

Pinball Carnival Zone is the fourth Zone of Sonic Superstars. It is a pinball-based setting on the Northstar Islands.

Description[]

The Zone is an amusement location with fireworks setting off in the background and a giant Eggman statue similar to the Bad Future of Stardust Speedway Zone. In Act 2, it receives a much creepier aesthetic, with ghost-like obstacles and Badniks wearing ghost sheets.

Story[]

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and Amy have reached Pinball Carnival Zone, as part of their quest to save the Northstar Islands from Dr. Eggman's rule.

Trivia[]

  • If she is not already active as a player character, Amy can be spotted towards the end of Act 2, throwing hammers at continuously-appearing Batbrains.
  • During Act 2, one of the higher routes immediately following a rollercoaster section will lead to a wall with a drawing of Sonic and Amy under an umbrella.
    • According to an interview with the game's art director, Daisuke Kojima, the drawing was created by Dr. Eggman.[1]
  • The design on the front of roller coasters resembles the face of an Egg Pawn. This is possibly a precursor to the current Egg Pawn, due to Sonic Superstars taking place in the past.
  • Act 1's theme samples the "3, 2, 1, go!" soundbyte from the Louvre level in Rhythm Thief & the Emperor's Treasure, another game by Sega.
