The Phantom Light^[1] (ファントムライト^[2], Fantomu Raito^?) is a subject that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are the faint thoughts of the Ancients that appear as light in the Starfall Islands.^[1]

Description[]

Phantom Lights are spirit-like beings, originating from Cyber Space, made of light that are the faint thoughts of the Ancients.^[1] They are usually hiding, since they fear the being that destroyed the Ancients. Whenever the moon rises, they feel safe enough to come out of hiding.^[3] Some of them appear as light-yellow and sticking to trees, while others appear as sky-blue and out of sight.

Overview[]

In Sonic Frontiers, they appear in the Starfall Islands only in the night, close to Challenges that can only be accomplished before the sun rises up. Upon performing the Cyloop around one of them, the player will complete a challenge, revealing a part of the map.

During The Final Horizon, the player can go towards one of the Side Stories, as Amy, where Dr. Eggman explains to Amy what are the Phantom Lights, and revealing why they only come out at nighttime.
