Nice speech, but you left out one small detail. You're a loser, Wade. You always have been, and you always will be.

— Pete Whipple, "What Happens in Reno, Stays in Reno"

Peter "Pete" Whipple[12], better known as "Pistol" Pete Whipple, is a character that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog film series produced by Paramount Pictures and its spin-offs. He is a legendary bowling champion and the estranged father of Wade Whipple.

Appearance[]

Peter has short light gray hair with a light gray mustache and goatee. Being inspired by England, he wears a Union Jack themed suit, dress shoes, and white gloves. While in his penthouse suit, he briefly swapped to a navy blue suit jacket and Union Jack themed handkerchief.

History[]

Past[]

Born in Slough, Peter Whipple, at some point, became a professional bowling player and went on to be called "Pistol" Pete because of it while also hiding his real accent with a posh one, married a woman named Gwendolyn before having Wanda and Wade. He would even teach Wade bowling. However, sometime in Wade's childhood, Pete abandoned his son in a TJ Maxx, as well as abandoning Wendy and Wanda, to continue his bowling career.

Knuckles[]

In the episode "The Shabbat Dinner" when Knuckles comes to meet Wade in his old bedroom, he looks at a poster of "Pistol" Pete and realizes that Pete shares the Whipple family name. Wade tells Knuckles that he's actually his dad, and Knuckles quickly deduces that Pete is the champion and will be at the Tournament of Champions in Reno.

In the episode "Reno, Baby", Pistol Pete appears out of a dark room and moves around a casino, swiftly gambling, tipping a waitress with some money he won, spend time with fans, win a round of roulette, and throws the chip out for his fans to grab.

Personality[]

At first, Pete Whipple came off as kind and polite when reuniting with his son, but when later revealing his true nature, he is actually a greedy, arrogant, selfish, cocky and self-centered person, it can be said by the way he tried to steal Wade's trophy, and the way he told Susie to be silent by calling her a brat.[13]

Additionally, Pete Whipple fakes and hides his Cockney accent by having a British accent.

Powers and abilities[]

One of Pete's skills is being excellent at bowling. He has won 27 times in total over the course of his career.
