The Pawn Series[2] (ポーンシリーズ[3] Pōn Shirīzu?) are a group that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. They are a series of Badniks created by Dr. Eggman that resemble the doctor himself. Since their introduction during the Neo Metal Sonic incident, the Pawn Series has become one of the most recurrent branches of Badniks, with its models, specially the main ones, reappearing numerous times since then. Though weak, the Pawn Series robots have been described as efficient robots, specially given their cheap costs.[2]
Description[]
The Pawn Series robots are humanoid robots based on Dr. Eggman. They are surprisingly easy to recognize,[3] and are generally modeled as robots that are no taller than Sonic, though some models have been shown to be far larger than that. The Pawn Series robot has a round body and a dome-shaped head that come together in an egg-like shape. They also have blank cyan eyes, a sharp yellow nose, a wide glowing panel for a mouth, and a black lower torso section. They have various color schemes, but the most common ones come in shades of oranges, yellows, and reds.
Most Pawn Series robot models are very fragile and weak, as a few attacks are enough to destroy them. Also, almost every single one of them has a limited artificial intelligence and no noteworthy personalities, making them almost completely silent and near-mindless drones that solely work for Dr. Eggman. However, they have been described as effective and surprisingly formidable armies, specially given their cheap costs.[2][3] Additionally, there are many variations of them with different attachments.[3]
