The Particle Accelerator is an object that appears in the Sonic Boom television series. It is a device created by Dr. Eggman which he used for a scheme to frame Sonic.
Description
The Particle Accelerator is a white horseshoe-shaped handheld device fitted with a grey grip in the middle and five small crystals. Dr. Eggman describes it with a small scratch on its left side and made from polished titanium. When used, its accelerates the wielders' particles: This gives the users a purple aura and let someone like Metal Sonic keep with up with Sonic's running speed for extended periods of time. It can also fire red laser beams.[1]
History
TV series
Created by Dr. Eggman, the doctor used the Particle Accelerator for a scam by having Metal Sonic steal the device and then frame Sonic as the culprit. When Sonic found Metal Sonic though, the robot used the Particle Accelerator to empower himself. Hitting the device with a horseshoe however, Sonic made the Particle Accelerator overload Metal Sonic until he blew up. Sonic then returned the device to Eggman.[1]
Trivia
- In real-life, particle accelerators are machines that uses electromagnetic fields to propel charged particles to high speeds and to contain them in well-defined beams.
