The Particle Accelerator is an object that appears in the Sonic Boom television series. It is a device created by Dr. Eggman which he used for a scheme to frame Sonic.
Description
The Particle Accelerator is a grey semiannular-shaped handheld device fitted with a grey grip in the middle and five small crystals. Dr. Eggman describes it with a small scratch on its left side and made from polished titanium. When used, its accelerates the wielders' particles which give them a purple aura, allowing users like Metal Sonic to easily keep with up with Sonic's running speed for extended periods of time. It can also fire red laser beams.[1]
History
Created by Dr. Eggman, the doctor used the Particle Accelerator for a scam by having Metal Sonic steal the device amongst other things from the Village and then frame Sonic as the culprit. When Sonic found Metal Sonic though, the robot used the Particle Accelerator to empower himself. Hitting the device with a horseshoe though, Sonic made the Particle Accelerator overload Metal Sonic and blow him up. Sonic then returned the device to Eggman.[1]
Trivia
- Particle accelerators are real. They are devices that uses electromagnetic fields to propel charged particles to high speeds and to contain them in well-defined beams.
